This noble idea was born from a wish dear to the late Bernard Ladem (Bernie) who initiated the administrative procedures with the local authorities (Fongo Tongo subdivision). Unfortunately, he was not able to bring his vision to life himself. However, those procedures were approved the week of his untimely passing. Since then, his family took over the execution of his idea. His father even offered his house that Bernie had built for him to be used as a classroom for local children until the new school is built. The village’s cultural home was also being used as a classroom at that moment. The family wanted to go one step further and build a classroom in his honor, because it was his dream to see the children of his village receive an education that can be the key for a better future. The project was submitted and approved by the Cameroonian Association of Greater Philadelphia.
