ACPE Honored by Philadelphia City Council During the 2026 Business Fair & President’s Cup

More Than 1,130 Participants Gathered to Celebrate Entrepreneurship, Culture, Community and Soccer
Philadelphia, PA — September 5, 2026 — The Cameroonian Association of Greater Philadelphia (ACPE) marked a significant milestone during its 2026 Business Fair & President’s Cup, bringing together more than 1,130 participants for a day dedicated to entrepreneurship, cultural heritage, community engagement, youth development and sports.
A major highlight of the celebration was the presentation of an official Citation from the City Council of Philadelphia, recognizing ACPE’s contributions to cultural heritage, community development, entrepreneurship, civic engagement, and the empowerment of Cameroonian immigrants and their families.
The recognition highlighted ACPE’s continued efforts to promote cultural exchange and education, support entrepreneurship and small businesses, create networking opportunities, encourage youth mentorship, and strengthen community engagement.
A Celebration of Business and Entrepreneurship
The ACPE Business Fair provided entrepreneurs and businesses with a platform to showcase their products and services, connect with customers, develop partnerships and strengthen their visibility within the Greater Philadelphia community.
Participating businesses represented a wide range of industries, including food, fashion and beauty, real estate, travel, professional services, sportswear and other growing enterprises.
Beyond serving as a marketplace, the Business Fair created opportunities for meaningful conversations, collaboration and relationship-building among entrepreneurs, families, community leaders and supporters.
The event demonstrated the depth of talent, creativity, enterprise and ambition within the Cameroonian and broader African immigrant communities of Greater Philadelphia.
The President’s Cup Brings Communities Together
The celebration continued on the soccer field with the ACPE President’s Cup, bringing together teams representing different communities and organizations.
The tournament featured:
- ACPE Veteran
- ACPE Youth Team
- 2-Zero Washington
- Togolese Community Soccer Team
- Malian Community Soccer Team
- Tent Halal Food Soccer Team
- FC Mauritania
- Delaware Athletic
The tournament brought together players, families and supporters for a day of athletic competition, community pride and fellowship.
Youth participation was an important part of the celebration. Children and young players participated alongside the men’s competition and were recognized with medals and trophies, creating memorable moments for families and reinforcing ACPE’s commitment to youth engagement.
The President’s Cup therefore served not only as a sporting competition but also as a platform for strengthening relationships among diverse communities.

Distinguished Guests and Community Leaders
The event was honored by the presence and recognition of several public officials and community leaders, including:
- Pennsylvania State Senator Sharif Street, representing Pennsylvania’s 3rd Senatorial District;
- Jannie L. Blackwell, community leader and former Philadelphia City Councilmember;
- Philadelphia City Council President Kenyatta Johnson;
- Philadelphia City Councilmember Jamie Gauthier, representing the 3rd District; and
- Philadelphia City Councilmember-at-Large Jim Harrity.

Their participation added significance to a celebration centered on community development, entrepreneurship, cultural heritage and civic engagement.

A Citation for the Entire Community
The Citation presented to ACPE represents more than recognition of the association’s leadership. It reflects the collective contributions of the volunteers, entrepreneurs, sponsors, community partners, athletes, families and supporters who continue to strengthen the organization and the community it serves.
The Citation was signed by Council President Kenyatta Johnson and Councilmember Jamie Gauthier on September 5, 2026.
ACPE extends its sincere appreciation to President Erick Yankmi, Vice President Judith Mukuro, Event Chairmen Olivier Tsinda Takuete and Paul Nanfah, the entire executive team, volunteers, sponsors, participating businesses, community organizations, soccer teams and every individual who contributed to the success of the 2026 Business Fair & President’s Cup.
